Lots of fine salvaged wood has come my way recently from friends and neighbors.  I’ve been especially happy to find some original cottage cupboard door fronts for signs. Here are a couple of new pieces using the small drawer fronts.

At the SK Craft show last weekend we met some fun and interesting people.

Sent a few visitors home with pieces and said “goodbye” to a favourite coffee table. When we delivered it I was a bit sad (maybe because it looked so good in my own house), but it was a perfect fit!  I knew that it was going to the right home.  And the new owner donated some nice wood furniture for future upcycling!

Hippie Cottage went the the fabulous Inn on Siesta Key a few months ago while they were in the process of considering changes and updates to the charming property.  Never one to hold back an opinion, I had a great time suggesting paint colors, new names for units and ultimately – making signs for innkeeper, Paige Hartmann.  Take a look at them here: New Names, New Signs

The Inn is a great place to stay on Siesta.  A cozy little compound, with six units just across from a Siesta Beach access, the Inn also offers attention to detail that will delight you.

For those of us who live here, we love seeing visitors using the many free ride and pedicab services, shuttle services, bikes, etc.  Less traffic means more fun for everyone – and it keeps our beautiful little island cleaner.  Parking can be a bear, so if you don’t live on the key choose Uber or carpool. If you’re on the key, take the free Siesta Breeze trolley.

Hint – park at Turtle Beach and ride the trolley!
